Dana Norris is a writer and the founder of Story Club, a monthly storytelling show that has been featured in Poets & Writers magazine. Story Club is held on a monthly basis in Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Boston, and Columbus.
Dana resides in the Cleveland area, where she writes for Role/Reboot and Heauxs . She teaches for Literary Cleveland and StoryStudio Chicago. She has been featured in Cleveland.com, Cleveland Scene, the Chicago Reader, the Chicago Tribune, as well as on WBEZ and WCPN. Dana has been named one of the funniest women in Ohio by Cleveland.com. In she 2015 was named one of Chicago's top 50 literary influencers by New City Chicago.
Mass Hysteria Fest Storytelling Workshop - Thursday, September 19

What: You have stories in you. Let's get them out! You'll learn about what makes a good story and how to turn events from your life into a captivating narrative. You'll leave this workshop with a solid start to a story of your own, as well as a list of events where you can share your stories. Come share your story!

Writing Out Loud - Fall 2019
When: 6 week class, running Saturday Oct 19th - Saturday Nov 23rd, 10AM-12PM
Class show on Tuesday, December 5, 7:30PM at CLE Urban Winery
Where: Lake Erie Ink, 2843 Washington Blvd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118
What: Ever seen someone on stage, captivating the crowd, and thought “I want to do that”? This class will show you how to create, edit, and perform your own stories. We’ll show you how to turn off your inner critic and turn up your creative juices. Each student will create a personal story and move it from the draft stage to a performance-ready piece of electrifying theater. In class we’ll create stories, discuss the fundamentals of live storytelling, and provide feedback on each others’ work. Outside of class you’ll be encouraged to attend storytelling shows and discover techniques you can use to enhance your own writing and performances. The class will conclude with a public show!

$50 for up to 15 pages. This includes a close reading of your work, email notes, and a 30 minute live review session via Skype, Google Hangouts, or FaceTime. Payment is accepted via Venmo or PayPal. Have a longer piece and/or want more time? Reach out for a quote!

Story Club Cleveland
When: Last Thursday every month, 7PM
Where: CLE Urban Winery, 2180 Lee Rd Cleveland Heights, OH
What: Story Club Cleveland is an open mic for true stories. Open mic sign up starts at 7PM and the show goes live at 7:30PM. Open micers are given 8 minutes (1300 words) in which to tell a true story. Each show also spotlights featured performances from talented local storytellers.
How: Event is 21+ with a $10 suggested donation that goes to support local charities. CLE Urban Winery has food and drink available during the show.
